Securing skilled labour
Skilled labour for Hesse
For Hessen and its future viability and competitiveness, securing the required labour force is a decisive factor. The economy and society can only remain functional with sufficient labour, skilled workers and managers as well as competitive companies.
All independent cities and districts in Hesse are affected by a shortage of skilled labour and increasingly by a shortage of labour. In view of complex and dynamic transformations such as demographic change, digitalisation, diversity, deglobalisation, decarbonisation and global political events, sustainably securing Hesse's skilled labour and workforce base remains one of the greatest tasks for the future of society as a whole and a challenge for everyone.
The state government is working with key partners such as business, trade unions, the labour administration, local authorities and regions to tackle this ongoing task for society as a whole. Together with the stakeholders, it supports the coverage of personnel requirements with a whole bundle of activities, measures and initiatives from education, potential-oriented labour market policy, internationalisation and the attractiveness of Hessen.
