General information: Property valuation
To determine current information on land values and new trends on the property market, 17 regionally responsible and independent expert committees for property values are active in Hesse.
To ensure the required market transparency, they each maintain a collection of purchase prices in which all property purchase contracts are systematically recorded and analysed and regularly publish standard land values and property market reports on this basis. This data also forms the basis for the preparation of individual reports on the market value of developed and undeveloped properties.
For administrative and technical support, each appraisal committee has an office that is the responsibility of the Hessian Administration for Land Management and Geoinformation or is run by the local authority.
A Central Office of the Expert Committees for Property Values of the State of Hesse (ZGGH) has been set up at the Hessian State Office for Land Management and Geoinformation as the central point of contact for information on all of the expert committees. Its tasks include, in particular, the development and dissemination of uniform standards in the field of property valuation.
