The "Family-friendly employer/university in the state of Hesse" seal of approval

On behalf of the Hessian state government, the Hessian Ministry of the Interior offers all Hessian departments and universities certification for the compatibility of family and career.
The seal of approval is awarded to departments that have made a special effort to address the issue of work-life balance.
This personnel management tool, which was developed specifically for the needs of the public sector, is intended to implement a family-friendly personnel and organisational policy in all departments.
The compatibility of family and career has been an integral part of Hessian personnel development as a whole since 2004. Ministries and the State Chancellery were audited by berufundfamilie gGmbH of the Hertie Foundation and subsequently the Hessian Ministry of the Interior developed its own seal of approval as a family-friendly employer in the state of Hesse, which has been awarded annually since 2014.
