Information for refugees from Ukraine

Against the background of the ongoing war and taking into account the renewed extension of Europe-wide temporary protection for refugees from Ukraine, the "Sixth Ordinance amending the Ukraine Residence Transitional Ordinance" of 27.11.2024 and the "First Ordinance amending the Ukraine Residence Permit Continuation Ordinance" of 27.11.2024 have now also been extended in Germany. Among other things, it was stipulated that residence permits in accordance with Section 24 (1) AufenthG that are valid on February 1, 2025, including their conditions and ancillary provisions, will continue to apply until March 4, 2026 without being extended in individual cases.
This serves to save those affected from having to apply for an extension and the associated appointments at the immigration authority.

The Entry and Residence Department is divided into the following areas

The offices of the department are located in Halle-Neustadt Am Stadion 5 and Am Stadion 6 (Kulturtreff).

Visits and interviews

It is possible to visit the Asylum and Humanitarian Residence Team and the Labor Market and Training Team in person.
However, when submitting applications to the Labor Market and Training team, please refer to the online application route for smoother application processing.
Appointments with the Duldung team and the issuing of documents are only possible by prior appointment.

Appointments for the Immigration and Residence Department take place both at Am Stadion 5, 06122 Halle (Saale), and at the "Kulturtreff", Am Stadion 6, 06122 Halle (Saale). Please pay attention to the details in your appointment.

Application

It is not necessary to visit the Foreigners' Registration Office in person to submit your application. Please submit the necessary forms and documents by post in good time before your residence permit expires to

To ensure a smooth transition, the application should be submitted approx. three months before the residence permit expires.
Please always submit the completed and signed form Application for issuance/extension of a temporary residence permit (also applies to the application for extension of the residence permit) as well as the documents required for the respective purpose of residence as a scan or copy.
