Applying to deregister a child from primary school care

If there is a special reason, you can deregister your child from the childcare services offered by your elementary school.

The elementary school childcare service is designed to support you, as parents of primary school pupils, in achieving a better work-life balance.

If your child is registered for childcare, but you can no longer take advantage of the service for a particular reason, you can deregister your child from childcare.

Please contact the school's respective sponsor. This could be your local authority, your town or the school's support association, for example.

• Your child must be registered for the "Betreuende Grundschule" program.
• You can only deregister your child during the current school year, as registration is only valid for one school year and therefore ends automatically at the end of the school year.
• There is a special reason for deregistration. This can be, for example
  • moving out of the catchment area of the elementary school and the associated change of school,
  • a change in the working hours of a parent or guardian or
  • a longer period of absence due to illness of your child.
