Proof

Together with the permit, the Security and Order Department will send you a notification. This serves as proof that you have a permit to keep your dog. In the event of checks by the police or the field service of the town of Espelkamp, the notice can easily prove that you are in possession of a permit and have fulfilled the prescribed requirements.

• Proof of expertise or a hunting license
  For dogs falling under this category, proof of expertise can be provided by submitting a certificate from a recognized expert or a recognized expert body in addition to the official veterinary certificate.
• Certificate of good conduct (document type 0)
• Proof of liability insurance
  As the owner of a dog, you are obliged to take out liability insurance (minimum cover for personal injury 500,000.00 euros and for property damage 250,000.00 euros) for your dog.

• Completion of the 18th year of life
• Safe keeping and leading of the dog on a leash
• The dog must be housed in an escape-proof and behavior-appropriate manner
• Identification of the dog by microchip
