Applying for a company card for the first time

Is your company involved in the commercial transportation of goods or passengers and do you need a company card for the first time? Then you must apply for this card from the competent authority.

You can apply for a company card as an entrepreneur or as an authorized representative. You always need a company card if you use vehicles that must be equipped with a digital tachograph.

As an entrepreneur, you are responsible for the proper use of the card or cards. You must also ensure that the company card is entered into the tachograph at the beginning and end of the vehicle's use for the company in order to assign the use of the vehicle to the company.

You are also responsible for ensuring that the data read from the tachographs is saved regularly. You must hand these over to the authorities or their representatives on request.

Company cards are valid for 5 years and are issued impersonally to the company.

You can apply for several of these cards for your company. The number is limited to a maximum of 62 company cards per company per card number series. If you require more company cards, you must start a new application process.
