Nature conservation

    Description

The aim of nature conservation is to preserve nature and landscape on the basis of their own value and as the basis of human life. Since it is becoming increasingly clear that the loss and destruction of nature and landscape can have serious negative consequences for humans, the restoration, preservation and long-term and sustainable usability of the ecosystem as well as a careful handling of the landscape are sought. Because of their importance in the ecosystem, but also their endangerment, the animal and plant species enjoy special protection.

    Contact point

The lower nature conservation authorities are responsible for nature conservation and the implementation of nature conservation law - and thus the first point of contact for citizens. Their tasks are performed in the districts by the district committee, in the district-free cities and the cities with more than 50,000 inhabitants by the magistrate.
