Landscape conservation and agri-environmental measures are implemented on the basis of regional agri-environmental concepts with corresponding support areas. Medium-term action plans are drawn up for the Natura 2000 areas on behalf of the Kassel Regional Council. The measures provided for in these plans are given priority for funding. One of the aims of regional landscape conservation is the preservation and safeguarding of valuable orchards and orchards, for which the Streuobstinitiative im Landkreis Kassel e.V.
