Applying for a special permit to offer goods and services on the street

For events where public roads are used more than usual due to the number of participants or their behavior, a permit is required. Bicycle races, cycle tours, popular runs, inline skating races, triathlon competitions, classic car or orientation rides or similar events are subject to authorisation.

The lower road traffic authority, i.e. the county or city on whose territory the event is to take place.

Information is required on:

• the nature and occasion of the event,
• venue and date,
• the duration of the event,
• the number of participants / vehicles,
• the route,
• the way to start.
  

The application for approval of the respective event must be submitted approximately 2 months before the intended date.

A timely application is absolutely necessary, as the state authority must involve the lower road traffic authorities affected by the event, the police and other bodies.

Any concerns, requirements or indications expressed during this consultation process (e.g. on local construction sites) will be taken into account by the licensing authority when granting the permit in order to ensure that the event runs smoothly.

The permit is subject to a fee.
