If you have decided to build or purchase your own home or condominium, you can take advantage of government funding opportunities.

Who can receive funding from the State of Hesse?

• Prefers families with children as well as households where there is a special structural need due to a disability of a household member
• Subordinate in justified cases households without children or in the case of tenant privatisation

Hint:
There is no legal entitlement to funding.

Rental housing subsidies

For the creation of new rental apartments in social housing, loans can be applied for from the state of Hesse. This promotes the creation of affordable housing.

Modernisation of rental apartments

As part of a state programme, the state of Hesse is funding modernisation measures in the rental housing stock of social housing (e.g. floor plan changes, extension of balconies, residential environment measures, modernisation of sanitary facilities). Excluded are pure repair measures or energy-efficient renovations (e.g. insulation of the roof/exterior façade, etc.).

Cost subsidies for the promotion of the handicapped accessible conversion of owner-occupied residential property

As part of a state programme, the state of Hesse promotes structural measures, facilities and equipment on and in existing owner-occupied apartments and on the residential property (closer residential environment). The apartments should be structurally designed in such a way that disabled people can lead their own household and live independently and independently. In addition, the residential buildings and apartments should be barrier-free.

• The income must not exceed a certain limit.
• Minimum own contribution: 15 percent of the total costs
• The construction work must not have begun before a grant is granted or the purchase contract must not yet have been concluded.

In principle, the construction or modernization measure may only be started or the purchase contract concluded after the approval decision has been issued.
