Submit a declaration of compliance with the requirements of the Building Energy Act for new buildings

If you own a heated or cooled building, you must prove that the building complies with the energy requirements of the Building Energy Act after its new construction.

The Building Energy Act sets requirements for the energy performance of buildings. The client or owner of a heated or cooled building must prove that the building meets the requirements of the Building Energy Act. Proof is provided with the declaration of compliance. The declaration of compliance must be submitted after the building has been completed.

No legal remedy is possible.

The respective countries regulate the procedure for the declaration of compliance, the authorization to issue it, the mandatory information and the evidence to be submitted.

• Submission of the declaration of performance after completion of the building

• The declaration of fulfillment must be submitted at the time of submission of the final notice of completion in accordance with Section 84 (1) sentences 1 and 3 of the Hessian Building Code.
