Applying for a change to the building permit for temporary structures

If you, as the operator of a temporary structure, change your main residence or commercial establishment, you must notify the relevant licensing authority.

Temporary structures are structures that are suitable and intended to be repeatedly erected and dismantled at different locations (e.g. fairground rides or tents).

Temporary structures require a construction permit that is issued to an addressee - the operator of the temporary structure. If the permit for the temporary structure is to be changed to a new address of the same operator, this must be applied for.

The change of address in the building permit is carried out by the approval office of the Giessen Regional Council.

If the competent authority changes to another federal state due to a change of residence/registered office, the new competent authority will be notified and will receive the authority copy.

The Giessen Regional Council is responsible.

The change of address takes place if

• an application is made to change the address in the inspection book and
• the inspection book is available.

To report a change of main residence or commercial establishment, the inspection book is submitted to the approval office of the Giessen Regional Council together with an application for a change of residence.

Once all the required documents have been submitted, the licensing office issues a notification of the change of residence and adds it to the inspection logbook.

The inspection logbook is then sent to the applicant. Alternatively, the logbook can also be collected by appointment.

The notification must be made after the change of domicile or commercial establishment.

In the event of a change of jurisdiction to another federal state, additional fixed costs of EUR 20 will be incurred.: Administrative fine 40,00 EUR (Information on cost composition can be found here)
