    If you have held a hunting license for at least three years, you can lease hunting grounds.

    Description

    The right to hunt and appropriate game on one's own land in the open countryside (fields, meadows, forests, water areas) can be leased. This requires the conclusion of a hunting lease agreement between the landowner and the leaseholder. The lessor must notify the competent hunting authority of the hunting lease agreement within one month of concluding the agreement.

    Procedure

    Submit the hunting lease agreement in writing to the responsible lower hunting authority after signing it.

    The authority will check the contract and report any objections within three weeks by means of a notice of objection.

    Hunting may not be carried out before the three-week period has expired, unless the competent authority permits hunting at an earlier date.

    Deadlines

    The notification period of one month must be observed. The competent lower hunting authority may object to the contract within three weeks of receipt of the notification if the regulations on the duration of the lease have not been observed or if it is to be expected that the provisions of hunting law will be violated by the exercise of hunting in accordance with the contract.

    The tenant may not hunt within these three weeks unless the competent authority permits hunting at an earlier date.

    Costs

    The notification of hunting leases is free of charge in accordance with the Administrative Cost Regulations for the Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (VwKostO-MUKLV). However, objections to a hunting lease in accordance with Section 10 (2) HJagdG in conjunction with Section 12 (1) BJagdG are subject to a fee.: Administrative fine from 60,00 EUR to 90,00 EUR (Information on cost composition can be found here)

    Notes (specifics)

    The leased or leased area must be entered in the hunting license of the hunting leaseholder (Section 11 (7) BJagdG).

    Hunting leases are contracts under private law. There is no officially prescribed form for this. The written form requirement for hunting leases is regulated by § 11 Para. 4 BJagdG.

    Model lease agreements are provided by the hunting associations or land use associations, among others.
