    If you wish to construct or significantly modify a facility for handling substances hazardous to water or take measures that result in a change in the hazard level, you must notify us.

    Description

    You must submit your notification of the construction, significant modification or change to the hazard level of an installation subject to mandatory inspection to the competent authority in good time in advance.

    The construction of these installations does not have to be notified if

    • a suitability assessment has been applied for in accordance with the Water Resources Act for installations for the storage, filling or handling of substances hazardous to water or
    • installations are the subject of an approval procedure under other legislation, provided that the approval procedure also ensures compliance with the requirements of this Ordinance. In this case, significant changes to the installation that require approval are also not subject to notification.

    Prerequisites

    The systems must comply with the requirements of the Ordinance on Systems for Handling Substances Hazardous to Water (AwSV). This must be verified with the documents to be submitted.

    Procedure

    If you want to submit the advertisement online:

    • You submit the notification via the online service.
    • The water authority will check your documents for completeness and request any missing information or documents.
    • The content requirements are also checked, which may also result in additional requirements.
    • The authority can temporarily or permanently prohibit the project or issue a decision with conditions.

    If you wish to send the notification by letter or e-mail:

    • You fill out the forms required for the notification and send them to the lower water authority.
    • The further procedural steps correspond to the online procedure.
