Reimburse salary costs for educational leave for volunteer training courses

The State of Hesse reimburses Hessian private employment agencies for the period of leave of absence for participation in a recognized volunteer training course for the remuneration actually paid per day.

Hessian employees can also claim their entitlement to educational leave for training in the performance of an honorary office.

Such training is intended to enable employees to carry out an assumed honorary office. Honorary offices within the meaning of the law are only those that are carried out in fulfillment of civic duties to strengthen the democratic community or in other special public interest.

The state of Hesse shall reimburse the Hessian private employment agencies for the period of leave of absence for participation in an honorary training course recognized by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration for the actual amount of remuneration continued to be paid (excluding voluntarily granted allowances and special payments such as capital-forming benefits, vacation and Christmas bonuses).

• Certificate of the employee's participation in the training event
• Proof of recognition as educational leave
• Proof of voluntary work
• Certificate of earnings/salary statement for the month of leave

Certificate from the organization/institution about the nature of the employee's voluntary work.

Action before the administrative court

An application for reimbursement of wage costs must be submitted to the Kassel Regional Council within twelve months of completion of the training event.
