One-off allowances or grants for the purchase of certain items or participation in certain activities for the foster child can be granted if they are not already covered by the current lump sums.
Description
The regular financial requirements for the maintenance and care of a foster child are covered by ongoing benefits.
Special measures and expenses may be necessary to promote the physical and mental development of the foster child and to enable them to participate in society. These can be financed by one-off grants or subsidies.

Basis for legal action
Procedure
Applications must be submitted to the youth welfare office responsible for the foster family placement. Needs can also be addressed during the regular support plan meetings. The youth welfare office bases its decision on the "Recommendations on ancillary services in youth welfare in Hesse" (Annex 7 to the Hessian Framework Agreement in accordance with Sections 78a ff. of Book VIII of the Social Code).
