Recognize teams of hunting dogs for searches across hunting districts and hunting communities
If you wish to have yourself and your dog recognized as a trailing team for trailing ungulates across hunting districts and hunting communities, certain requirements must be met.
Description
Hunting dog teams that meet certain recognition requirements are authorized to search across hunting districts and hunting communities once they have been officially recognized.
The application for recognition must be submitted to the higher hunting authority.
The upper hunting authority publishes a list of recognized hunting dog teams

Prerequisites
- Informal written application
- Proof of a valid hunting license
- Proof of the dog's suitability for tracking cloven-hoofed game (passing the welding or tracking shoe test with at least the performance requirements in accordance with the usability test regulations for hunting dogs in Hesse (BPO-Hessen))
Basis for legal action
Procedure
- An application for recognition is submitted to the Higher Hunting Authority.
- The documents are checked for correctness and completeness
- The team is recognized or the application is rejected.
- Each recognized team receives a certificate. This is sent by post.
- The published list of recognized teams is updated
- A hunting dog or an entire team can be deregistered by notification of change. The public list will be updated accordingly.
