Providing full-time care for older children and young people
Older children and young people in full-time care have special needs. This requires close and intensive counseling of those involved in the fostering relationship. The child care service supports and accompanies foster carers and children with extensive services.
Description
Foster families are entitled to support and advice, as their tasks and the demands placed on them differ significantly from those of a family without a youth welfare mandate. As private individuals, they provide a public service within the framework of educational assistance. They therefore undertake to cooperate within the framework of assistance planning and the care agreement concluded between them and the foster care service.
In order to successfully meet the requirements of a foster family in the long term, they need professional support from specialists with proven expertise in the field of foster care. Continuous specialist support and advice for foster care relationships helps to stabilize them in the long term and is therefore an important contribution to ensuring the best interests of the child.
