Emergency shelters for crisis situations Construction

Whether the refugee influx in the summer of 2015 or a large-scale evacuation after a bomb discovery - the events that require the construction of emergency shelters are manifold. THW can set up and maintain these shelters in crisis situations. For this purpose, the specialised group Infrastructure provides the necessary equipment. In addition, the specialist group Electrical Supply and the specialist group Drinking Water Supply can equip the emergency shelters with electricity and running water. The logistics group is used to transport the necessary material. However, the operation of the emergency shelters is the responsibility of the requesting authorities themselves - mostly cities and municipalities - or is transferred to service providers by them.
