Medical study place in the Public Health Service Admission

You can apply for a study place within the framework of the preliminary quotas for university admission to study human medicine.

Applications can be submitted annually for study places with subsequent employment as a GP, primarily in rural areas, as well as for study places with subsequent employment in one of the Hessian health authorities.
Applicants are selected in a two-stage selection process in which the three medical universities are involved. The main focus is on the personal and subject-specific aptitude of the applicants.
A university entrance qualification is a prerequisite for application.
The selected applicants study in Frankfurt am Main, Giessen and Marburg. They receive special support as part of the "Hessian Path" and are thus specifically prepared for their future work.
After completing their specialist training in general medicine, internal medicine or pediatrics and adolescent medicine, the trained physicians will practice their profession for ten years in a region of the state that is medically undersupplied or at risk of being undersupplied.

• Result of the test for medical degree programs (TMS, optional)
• Proof of completed vocational training (optional)
• Proof of one or more professional activities (optional)

• Proof of voluntary work (optional)

• You must have a valid university entrance qualification
• You have previously registered with the Foundation for University Admissions at www.hochschulstart.de and received an identification number (BID)
• You indicate the desired place(s) of study
• A curriculum vitae in table form must be submitted with the application
• You must prove your identity with an identification document (identity card or passport)
• You have a valid examination entitlement in the Human Medicine degree program
• You are not enrolled in the Human Medicine degree program at another university

You can appeal against the decision and take legal action before the administrative court.

Apply electronically, attach all supporting documents and submit your binding application.

The application will be formally checked and evaluated in the first stage of the selection process.

A maximum of twice the number of applicants for the available study places will be invited to the second stage of the selection procedure. A standardized and structured selection interview takes place, which is evaluated by a selection committee.

The selection decision is then made on the basis of a ranking list according to the points achieved in each case.

Finally, the selected applicants are reported to Hochschulstart.de. Shortly afterwards, they will receive a binding offer of admission as part of the central admissions procedure.
