Show changes to the animal enclosure

You must notify the lower nature conservation authority of any expansion or significant change to an animal enclosure.

Animal enclosures are permanent facilities in which animals of wild species are kept outside residential and commercial buildings for a period of at least 7 days a year.

If you have an animal enclosure and wish to extend or modify it, you must notify the lower nature conservation authority of your plans at least one month in advance.

To do this, submit the necessary information to the lower nature conservation authority.

The competent authority can issue orders to ensure compliance with species and nature conservation in the course of the expansion or significant modification of the animal enclosure.

• You extend or modify your animal enclosure.
• The animal enclosure meets the requirements for animal, species and nature conservation.

There are no legal remedies.

Notification period: at least 1 month before the extension or significant change to the animal enclosure.
