Firearm subject to authorisation - Show purchase

If you have a firearms possession card and purchase a firearm that requires a permit, you must report this to the competent authority within two weeks.

You can purchase the weapon by handing it over or by buying it from an arms dealer.

If you are a sport shooter and have a yellow gun possession card, you must state the recognized shooting sports regulations as well as the discipline permitted for the respective weapon.

Based on the display, the weapon will be entered in your weapon possession card and the previous entry will be deleted. If you have a European firearms pass, you can also have the weapon you have purchased registered there.

If you purchase a weapon on the basis of a pre-entry, you can also apply for an ammunition purchase certificate with the advertisement. To do this, you need to specify for which of the weapons you want to purchase the ammunition that you indicated in the ad.

If you do not report the purchase or do not report it within two weeks, you are committing an administrative offense.

To fill out the ad faster, you can use the NWR identification numbers (NWR ID):

• Your PersonalNWR-ID (P- or F-NWR-ID) for your personal information
• the permitNWR-ID for the firearms permit (E-NWR-ID)
• the weapon or weapon part NWR ID (W or T-NWR ID).

You can obtain the NWR IDs upon application from the responsible weapons authority.

The competent authority is the weapons authority (district or independent city) in whose district you reside.

In Hesse, the district regulatory authorities (districts and independent cities) are responsible as weapons authorities.

• Identity card or passport (copy)
• Weapon possession card (WBK) or hunting license with purchase authorization (pre-entry)
• European Firearms Pass (if registration desired)

You must report the acquisition of a weapon requiring a permit to the competent weapons authority. Submit the application along with the required documents.

An administrative fee of EUR 17 will be charged, unless the registration is covered by the fee charged when the firearms possession card is issued.: Fee 17,00 EUR
