• You have completed the prescribed training and passed the state examination,
• You have not been guilty of any behavior that would make you unreliable to practice the profession,
• You are not medically unfit to practise the profession,
• You have the necessary knowledge of the German language to exercise the profession.

Administrative court action

• You submit your application to the competent authority using the online form and upload the required documents if necessary,
• The permit is issued if the competent authority determines that the legal requirements have been met.

The Hessian State Office for Health and Nursing (HLfGP) is responsible for state recognition, the supervision of training centers and the approval of schools for anesthesia technical assistants and surgical technical assistants to accept trainees. The authority is responsible for examination matters, the issuing of professional licenses and the creation of replacement documents. It decides on the potential equivalence of other training content and possible shortening of training.
