Register your fishing vessel in the eel register

If you wish to use a fishing vessel for eel fishing, you must register it with the competent authority.

If you wish to use a fishing vessel for eel fishing, you must register the vessel with the higher fisheries authority.

If your fishing vessel is registered in the European Community fishing fleet register or has an official mark, this must be stated when registering.

For other fishing vessels (unregistered inland fishing vessels), the following information is required when registering:

1. Type
2. Length according to own measurement
3. Motorization with regard to engine type and
4. Official registration number of the vessel issued in accordance with other legislation, which must be displayed on the vessel

Your registration number must be visible on the fishing vessel.

• You register the fishing vessel with the competent authority before taking up eel fishing.
• You complete the form in writing and send it by e-mail or post.
• Your registered fishing vessel for eel fishing is then entered in the fishing register.

If you give up eel fishing or acquire a new fishing vessel, you must notify the higher fisheries authority immediately. If the fishing vessel is no longer used for commercial eel fishing, it will be deleted from the register by the higher fisheries authority.
