Applying for information on the architectural or artistic monument

On the one hand, legally binding information can be requested as to whether a building is entered in the register of monuments of the State of Hesse.

Anyone is permitted to view the list of monuments in accordance with Section 10 of the Hessian Monument Protection Act.

You can obtain initial information on many architectural and artistic monuments in Hesse via the publicly accessible DenkXweb monument database. DenkXweb is still under construction. Further Hessian towns and districts will be added online on a regular basis. You can submit a request for legally binding information on whether a building is listed in the monument register. To do so, you should demonstrate a legitimate interest in the information.

This information relates to the status as a monument of architecture and art in accordance with Section 2 (1) HDSchG (cultural monument) and Section 2 (3) HDSchG (part of a complex).
