Applying for a sticker to identify an electrically powered vehicle from abroad (e-sticker)

    If your electrically powered vehicle from abroad does not already have a license plate, it will need an e-badge to drive in Germany.

    Description

    Your electrically powered vehicle such as a

    • battery electric vehicle;
    • fuel cell vehicle or
    • rechargeable hybrid electric vehicle

    requires an e-badge to drive on the road, even if it comes from abroad.

    You must apply for the sticker from the responsible authority and it will be issued to you by the registration authority. You must then affix the sticker to the back of your vehicle.

    Contact person

    Please enter a location or postcode in the City / Location input field to see the responsible contact person

    Prerequisites

    Procedure

    You must apply for the so-called e-badge at the responsible registration authority.
