Declaration by which the father waives the transfer of custody Notarisation
This service is provided by the judiciary.
If you want to give your child up for adoption and are not married to the mother, you can consent to the adoption before the child is born. To do this, you must have your waiver of the transfer of custody notarized.
Description
In order for a child to be given up for adoption, the consent of both parents is required. As a rule, this consent can only be given eight weeks after the birth of the child.
If the mother is not married, you as the father can give consent to the adoption before the birth of the child. This also requires a declaration by which you, as the father, waive the transfer of custody of the child. With this declaration, you waive that you want to apply for custody of your child. This is a prerequisite for release for adoption. This declaration must be notarised so that you are informed about the legal effect and consequences.
