Identity card issued new due to theft

Your identity card has been stolen? Then you need to report this. In addition, you must apply for a new identity card if you are over 16 years old and do not have a valid passport document.

If your identity card has been stolen, you must report the loss or theft of your identity card to the identity card authority. The latter is obliged to inform a police authority immediately. After that, you can apply for a new identity card.

• Another identity document, usually the previous identity card and/or e.g. the passport and/or a civil status certificate (e.g. birth certificate) to prove the identity of the applicant.
• a biometrically suitable photograph (according to the photo sample board).

You must report the theft as soon as possible.

€22.80 for applicants under 24 years of age; 37,00€ for applicants in all other cases.

13,00€ surcharge for applications outside working hours or at a non-competent authority.
