Ehrenamts-Card Hessen (E-Card)

Civic engagement is of central importance for the cohesion of our society. Without the participation of its citizens, the state would not be able to solve the social challenges of the present and the future.
Many people in Hesse volunteer, the possibilities and fields of application are as diverse as the interests and abilities of the people: Whether in sports, in the youth or senior sector, in the fire brigade, in voluntary social services, in the parish, in choirs or art associations, in initiatives in environmental or animal protection: Voluntary and charitable work of like-minded people is as important for our common good as it is irreplaceable.
That deserves recognition!
For this reason, the Hessian state government, together with the districts as well as the independent and special status cities, has introduced the Ehrenamts-Card as a sign of gratitude and appreciation for all those who are particularly committed to society.

Holders of the Ehrenamts-Card can take advantage of a wealth of attractive discounts throughout Hesse. These include top-class sports and cultural events as well as cinemas, museums, adult education courses, swimming pools and other leisure facilities. In addition to permanent discounts, attractive special promotions, competitions and free tickets are also offered again and again.

You can apply for the Ehrenamts-Card at the administration of the districts, independent cities or the special status cities. Contact persons who issue you the Ehrenamts-Card and answer your questions can be found on the website for the Ehrenamts-Card.
 

• more than 5 hours of volunteering per week
• purely voluntary, unpaid work (e.g. without lump-sum expense allowance; reimbursement of expenses, such as travel expenses, is harmless.)
• several volunteer activities can be added
• if you do not live in Hesse, but do your voluntary work in Hesse, the responsible regional contact person can issue you with a volunteer card.
• Many districts and cities have defined their own supplementary criteria for the award.

The volunteer card has a limited period of validity. Depending on the issuing county or city, their validity varies between 2 or 3 years. After that, you can of course apply for the volunteer card again.

Different durations in cities and districts

The receipt of a volunteer card is of course free of charge.

• The Ehrenamts-Card is valid throughout Hesse. You can take advantage of all the discounts offered anywhere in Hesse. If you are a volunteer card holder in another Hessian city, pay attention to possible stickers at the cash desk of institutions and shops. The offer is constantly growing. • Special promotions are organized at regular intervals for the holders of the volunteer card. Often there are free tickets for special events to win. You can also be informed about these usually very short-term promotions by e-mail.
